Accessibility Statement

Valuer Dekho ("ValuerDekho") wants everyone, including people using assistive technology, people abroad on older devices, and people who simply prefer keyboard navigation, to be able to compare valuers and get a quote on our site. This page describes what we have done and what we are still working on.

1. Our target standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA where practicable. This is a goal we are actively working towards, not a claim of certified compliance.

2. What we have built in

• Semantic HTML headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can navigate the page structure
• A visible keyboard-focus outline on every interactive element, and a "skip to content" link at the top of every page
• Colour choices checked for reasonable contrast between text and its background in both our accent and neutral colours
• Text that resizes and reflows on phones, tablets and desktops without losing content or function
• Forms with associated labels, and error and status messages that are not conveyed by colour alone
• No content that flashes or auto-plays in a way likely to trigger seizures

3. Known limitations

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time project. Some interactive tools (for example, the fee calculator and document-checklist generator) update part of the page dynamically; we are continuing to test these with screen readers and will improve announcements where needed. If you find something that does not work well with your assistive technology, please tell us. See below.

4. Compatibility

We build and test against current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on desktop and mobile, and aim for compatibility with common screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA. Very old browser versions may not render every visual detail correctly, but core content and the ability to request a quote should still work.

5. Report an accessibility barrier

If you encounter a barrier using the Platform, please tell us the page URL, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology or browser you were using. We will do our best to fix genuine issues.
