How the slabs work
- 0.5% of the first ₹5,00,000
- 0.2% of the next ₹10,00,000
- 0.1% of the next ₹40,00,000
- 0.05% of the balance
- Minimum fee ₹5,000. Visa-only reports are usually quoted as flat fees below this ceiling.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the fee I will pay?
It is the maximum a registered valuer may charge for a report prepared for income-tax purposes under Rule 248. Market quotes are often lower; visa and bank reports are priced separately.
Which value goes in: sale price or valuation?
The asset value as determined in the report. Valuers quote on the expected value and adjust if the final figure differs materially.
Does the scale include GST?
No. GST at 18% is added where the valuer is registered.
