Privacy Policy

Valuer Dekho ("ValuerDekho", "we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://valuerdekho.com and the related WhatsApp, email and portal channels (together, the "Platform"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable Indian law. It applies to property owners requesting quotes, valuers and firms who create accounts and submit listings, and everyone else who visits the site.

By using the Platform you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Cookie Policy and Grievance Redressal page.

1. Who we are

ValuerDekho is a "Data Fiduciary" under the DPDP Act for the personal data described below. Our contact details are at the end of this policy and on the Contact page.

2. Personal data we collect

2.1 From property owners requesting quotes

• Name, phone or WhatsApp number, and email address
• Property city, property type, and the purpose of the valuation (visa, capital gains, bank loan, and so on)
• Your current location or country, where you tell us this to arrange time zones or currency
• Any notes, deadlines or other details you choose to add on the enquiry form or in conversation

We do not currently collect uploaded documents through the Platform. Title deeds, identity proofs and similar documents are exchanged directly between you and the valuer you choose, over WhatsApp, email or another channel of your choosing, once you are introduced. We do not receive or retain copies of those documents ourselves.

2.2 From valuers, chartered accountants and firms who create an account

• Name, email address, phone number and a password (stored by our authentication provider in hashed, not plain-text, form)
• Firm name, tagline, description, year of practice, languages, and website, if provided
• Professional registration details you submit for listing review: registration type and number (for example, a Section 514 registration, IBBI Registered Valuer number, Chartered Engineer membership or CA membership), cities you cover, purposes you certify, fees and turnaround
• GST number, where you provide one, used only for our internal verification and never shown publicly
• Any notes you add for our review team

2.3 Collected automatically

• A session cookie set by our authentication provider so that signed-in valuers and administrators stay logged in between page loads. This is strictly necessary for the account and admin portal to work and is not used for tracking.
• Standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability, in line with normal web-server practice.
• Privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity), loaded only after you interact with the page, not on first load, as described in our Cookie Policy.

3. Why we collect and use your data

We use personal data only for the purposes below, which is either a purpose you have voluntarily given the data for, or a purpose we need to perform our side of an agreement with you:

• To match property owners with two or three suitable registered valuers and forward the enquiry to them
• To let you create, edit and manage a valuer account and listing, and to review and verify listing submissions
• To send transactional communications: quote confirmations, listing status updates, sign-in links, and replies to your enquiries
• To operate, secure, debug and improve the Platform, including understanding which pages are useful
• To meet legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Who we share your data with

• Matched valuers. When you request a quote, we share the details relevant to that enquiry (your name, contact details, property city and type, and purpose) with the two or three registered valuers we shortlist for you, so they can send you a quote. Valuers may use this only for that engagement, not for unrelated marketing.
• Service providers who process data on our behalf. We use reputable third-party providers for hosting and content delivery, our database, email delivery of transactional messages, and website analytics. These providers act as our data processors, are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and may only use the data to provide their service to us.
• Legal and safety disclosures. Where required to comply with a legal obligation, a valid governmental or judicial request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of ValuerDekho, our users or the public.
• Business transfers. If ValuerDekho is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy continuing to apply (or you being notified of any material change).

5. Where and how your data is stored

Our production database is hosted in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region, so the personal data described in this policy is stored in India. We use industry-standard security practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your device and our servers, access controls that restrict who can read or change data, and row-level security on our database so that, for example, a valuer's account can only see their own listing and never another firm's data or another user's account. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and while we work to protect your data we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. How long we keep your data

• Quote-request (lead) records are kept for up to 24 months from your enquiry, after which they are deleted or anonymised unless we are required to keep them longer by law.
• Valuer account and listing data is kept for as long as the account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to resolve disputes, meet legal obligations and maintain business records, after which it is deleted or anonymised on request or at our discretion.
• Where you ask us to delete your data sooner and we have no legal reason to keep it, we will do so.

7. International and NRI users

Many people who use ValuerDekho are Non-Resident Indians or Overseas Citizens of India living outside India. If you access the Platform from outside India, your personal data will still be processed and stored on servers located in India as described above. By using the Platform from any location, you consent to this processing in India. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere with its own data protection law, you may have additional rights under that law; please contact us using the details below and we will do our best to assist within what Indian law and our systems allow.

8. Your rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act, and subject to its conditions and exceptions, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed
• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Erase personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected for, subject to any legal retention requirement
• Withdraw consent at any time for processing that relies on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal
• Grievance redressal: raise a complaint about how we handle your data (see our Grievance Redressal page) before approaching the Data Protection Board of India
• Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity

To exercise any of these rights, write to valuerdekho@gmail.com from the email address associated with your enquiry or account, describing what you would like us to do. We will verify your identity before acting on the request and respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep valuer and admin accounts signed in, and privacy-respecting analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) that load only after you interact with a page, never on first load, and never for advertising. 10. Children's privacy

The Platform is intended for adults capable of entering into a contract under Indian law and is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect personal data from, children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

11. Security incidents

If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in risk to you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required under the DPDP Act and take reasonable steps to contain and remedy the incident.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect a change in the law or in how the Platform works. We will post the revised policy here with an updated effective date, and for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to draw attention to the update (for example, on the home page or by email to registered valuers).

14. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India, as set out in our Terms of Service.
