CA Net Worth Certificate
Chartered Accountant net-worth certificates with UDIN for visas, tenders, bank guarantees and immigration
A net worth certificate is a Chartered Accountant's signed statement of an individual's or company's total assets minus liabilities on a given date, verified by a UDIN that anyone can check on the ICAI portal. Embassies (Canada, Australia, UK, USA, New Zealand, Schengen) and Indian banks, tender authorities and courts ask for it. Where property is the largest asset, the CA uses a registered valuer's report for that line. Typical cost is ₹10,000–₹18,000 and turnaround is same-day to two working days once documents are in.
- Who signs
- A practising Chartered Accountant (ICAI member) issuing the certificate with a UDIN. Property values inside it should come from a registered valuer's report, otherwise the CA can only rely on guideline value or your own estimate.
- Typical fee
- ₹6,000 – ₹10,000. Plus 18% GST. Depends on the number of assets and whether a dual-currency format and physical copy are needed. Property valuation reports are priced separately.
- Turnaround
- Same day to 2 working days
- Inspection
- Not applicable; document-based.
- Validity
- Usually accepted within 3–6 months; some embassies ask for a certificate dated within 30 days of filing.

Frequently asked questions
Is a net worth certificate the same as a property valuation report?
No. The certificate totals all assets and liabilities and is signed by a CA. The valuation report values one property and is signed by a registered valuer. Immigration files often need both.
What is a UDIN and why does it matter?
A Unique Document Identification Number generated by the CA on the ICAI portal for every certificate. Embassies and banks verify it online; a certificate without a UDIN is not valid.
Can the CA include property without a valuation report?
The CA can rely on guideline value or the owner's estimate, but must say so, which weakens the certificate. A registered valuer's report is the standard.
Can an NRI get a net worth certificate for assets in India?
Yes. Documents are shared remotely; the certificate is issued in the NRI's name with dual-currency figures on request.
